How Tactics Ogre would be if it was developed and played now
It's a good week to be a Quest fan. Just one day after the official Japanese announcement of the PSP revival of the original SNES Tactics Ogre title comes another bombshell from the San Diego Comic Con, no less. Square Enix confirms that a North American localization of Tactics Ogre: Wheel of Fortune is already in the works, under its classic SNES moniker Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together.
As highlighted yesterday, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together reunites the original Quest heroes: director Hiroshi Minagawa, designer lead Yasumi Matsuno, character designer Akihiko Yoshida, and sound composers Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata. Tactics Ogre PSP will strive to keep the nostalgic charm of the original releases while refreshing the interface and gameplay to create a title the way it's meant to be created (and played) these days. Outside of mechanics, character backgrounds will be further fleshed out for better storytelling. Square Enix's North American announcement also teases the new "Wheel of Fortune" system, designed to enhance replayability.
