Though Aliens vs. Predator has seen a couple map packs released, and a somewhat successful movie, the previously promised and much-awaited patch for the console versions will not be released. Sega's assistant community manager "Clumsyorchid" delivered the following message earlier in the week:
I've just received a mail this AM regarding patches for the console versions of AVP and I regret to inform everyone that these have sadly been scrapped.
I had previously made a claim that these were coming and at the time, this was very much on the table. For the console community, I apologize, as I know there are many features and updates that you'd like to see. I'll keep fighting internally for this to happen, but until I hear otherwise, there will not be a console patch for either Xbox or PS3.
He's a good fellow, saying if fans show there's enough demand for an update through forum posts on Sega's site or aliensvspredator.net, or through other initatives, he'll do his best to influence the team, so if this is something you want, get to it.
As for the PC version of the game, that received an update earlier this month, and as far as he knows, there's no change on that front -- PC patches are easier and require no premiums, so those are likely factors.
