Sad news today for trivia buffs out there: Microsoft announced that the Xbox LIVE version of 1 vs 100 is no more. The team behind the game show has moved on to other projects.
The LIVE counterpart played exactly like the TV show it was based on with one contestant trying to outlast the 100-player "Mob" through a series of trivia questions; the prize could be given to the lone player or split among the remaining group. During its heyday, 114,000 people simultaneously played the game online to set a Guiness world record for most contestants in a game show.
It's very unfortunate that it had to go seeing as players could win prizes such as free games and Microsoft Points. Had 1 vs 100 continued on, there might have been the chance for other TV game shows making the jump to LIVE. Match Game, anyone?
