After Blizzard made it known that it would be required to have users' real names posted online as a requirement to use their forums, they were met with huge negative response. Today, Blizzard announced that they have removed the requirement.
The idea was meant to make their forums a much friendlier environment by removing anonymity and further unifying the community. However, users cited various concerns that might affect their well-being or compromise their eligibility for opportunities such as jobs.
Blizzard will still continue to go on with their plans to add community features to their forums and games when Starcraft II and World of Warcraft: Cataclysm are released. Players everywhere should relax in knowing they still have a say in matters as well.
