Um. Isn't a console, at the very least, a "gamer-friendly PC". That is to say, a computer designed specifically for gaming in both hardware and software, while maintaining side features like browsing as an option?

This subscription service is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. If this existed, then no one will play COD

@Dallas, Yes, they will, that's way it will go through.

It'll probably go through but it sounds like it won't be easy. To me it sounded like the Sony and Microsoft don't like the idea as much as the buyers. I only say this because Kotick makes it sound like they're giving him a harder time than he'd like about the whole thing.

I don't play enough CoD to even think about paying a sub, but they are millions who will, I'm sure.

I'm not so sure, if other FPS producing publishers don't follow suit. Gamers will bear with quite a few things they may not like for things like the newest entry in a series, but charging subscription fees to access a very important part of the game on the theoretical scenario that nobody else is doing the same is more likely to drive many to try out those alternatives.

Sure, some will probably go for it anyway, but I'm certain they would notice the loss.

Insanity Prevails is absolutely correct. Look at the popularity of the Bad Company games, especially the new one and especially the online portion. Plus the new Medal of Honor will surely gain support if Activision actually somehow goes through with this. Not to mention the other non-modern shooter, Halo:Reach that will eat up X-box live time. Why pay more when you can get the same quality for less?
