Yesterday, Sapphire demonstrated a working ATI Eyefinity setup in 3D, and it wasn’t clear exactly what nVIDIA’s response would be. Well, today nVIDIA answered with the release of their new Geforce Beta v258.69 drivers, adding support for 3D Vision surround.
Not only did nVIDIA release the new drivers, but they have also uploaded a few videos to their blog showcasing the technology in action. The first video is of NVIDIA's VP of corporate marketing Rob Csongor explaining what the triple monitor setup will look like; the second is of the world’s first 3D Vision Surround racing simulator, created by MAINGEAR.
To properly utilize this technology the user will have to have three 120Hz monitors and 3D supported graphics card in SLI. Dual graphics card is a requirement as a single Nvidia graphics card can only support up to two monitors.
The developments in 3D gaming continue to evolve and with each new update the tech becomes all that much more interesting.
