After waiting for what feels like an eternity, Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo 5 is finally nearing its launch which has just been set for November 2. Team leader Kazunori Yamauchi is a bit of a perfectionist, so it's good to see he's finally ready (or ready enough, anyway) to set this one free.
Enthusiasts will likely be interested in the also announced Collector's Edition, which packs a Nissan GT-R Spec V model car, 300-page car guide covering history of the automobile, driving techniques, pro racing tips, car and engine basics and more, a GT-brand key chain, five downloadable cars, and a numbered certificate of authenticity, all of which comes in some classy packaging.
It's one of the finer CE's we've seen, so perhaps you'll find the $99.99 MSRP reasonable. Naturally, this will be in limited quantities.
Pre-order bonuses for GT5 include in-game cars -- the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Nissan GT-R GT500, McLaren F1, and more, each with a custom-designed "stealth" livery and exclusive performance upgrades.
Retailers will begin taking orders soon for the CE and regular edition.
Lastly, we've got the trailer from E3 2010 -- impressive as always.
See you on the track, sirs.
