A variety of new titles available today for Nintendo console owners: another new Art Style entry is available for WiiWare along with some viral warfare and monkeys throwing bananas (thankfully). DSi owners get a treat today with the rare instance of a bullet hell shooter making its way on a portable, some more Texas Hold 'Em, hidden object finder, and a classic puzzle game. No new VC titles are available today, however.
Art Style: light trax is a remake of Dotstream, one of the GBA Bit Generations titles released only in Japan. This minimalistic racer puts you as a beam of light racing against other beams as you avoid obstacles, use power-ups, navigate shifting perspectives, and strategically make turns to come in first. Freeway Mode challenges you to get as far as you can within a limited amount of time. Race at a stylish speed of light for 600 Wii Points.
Manic Monkey Mayhem has monkeys shooting bananas at each other. Play alone or in teams as you try to survive as long as possible or in team matches. This will run you 800 Wii Points.
Viral Survival pits a lone DNA dodging attacks from viruses. Along the way you'll find other DNA units to latch onto you and eventually be able to fight back those nasty virii. Alternate modes include getting a high number of kills and rescuing DNA as fast as possible. Deoxyribonucleic action can be had for 500 Wii Points.
Metal Torrent will challenge every shoot 'em up fan out there as huge barrages of bullets are certain to hit your ship every moment you play this vertical shooter. Squeeze out every last bit of score you can as you go up against patterned or random waves of enemies and upload your high score online. Get some bullet hell action for 500 DSi Points.
World Poker Tour Texas Hold 'Em is apparently an official poker game "approved by the experts at the World Poker Tour". Beginners and experts alike can try their luck at two different tournaments and play against friends in local wireless play. 500 DSi Points lets you in on the authentic poker gaming.
Real Crimes: Jack the Ripper lets you discover the true identity of the infamous murderer in an unusual way: finding hidden objects. Visit famous locales in 1880's London as you find items to solve the mystery. Try your hand at sleuthing for 800 DSi Points.
Advanced Circuits is a Pipe Mania-style puzzler where you must connect a system of track to complete a circuit. Preset and random puzzles will challenge your mind as you try to figure out the one solution to each board. This one's nice and cheap at 200 DSi Points.
This week's "Big Name Game" for WarioWare: D.I.Y. is by Chris Slate, editor of Nintendo Power Magazine. Chris' Funky Boxing microgame is an homage to Punch-Out!! where you must land three hits on a boxing champ.
