It's Friday, and you know what that means: new Transformers! This week, three new playable robots are revealed, with two Autobots and one Decepticon joining the ranks. But first, another trailer! This brief behind-the-scenes trailer discusses the War for Cybertron story, which aims to cover a good portion of Transformers lore. In the campaign, we'll go all the way back to pre-leader Optimus. We may also find out why Megatron still keeps Starcream around, despite all the "last times" he's failed his master.
You'll find character bios and artwork after the break.
Both Autobots Jetfire and Sideswipe appeared in the second live-action Transformers movie, though they looked nothing like their original selves. Although edesigned again for War for Cybertron, both Tranformers are looking more reminiscent of their original selves.
- Originally created by Shockwave to serve Megatron, Jetfire was thrwated and later rebuilt as an Autobot; a key moment in Jetfire's existence is his initiation into the their ranks, at which point he received the Autobrand in his chest. In the upcoming game, he keeps the fins over his back but boasts more red paint than before.
- Sideswipe's face and black "helmet" are taken directly from the animated series, though his red color scheme is now broken up by unpainted metal. Still a car, his vehicle form looks completely different from the formerly all white version.
- Decepticon Thundercracker keep shis trademark blue paint, sporting bits of color seen in his G1 design. Out of today's three Transformers, he underwent the biggest change in appearance. The bulky design gives way to a sleeker look, and he still has a thing for scaring people to death.
Remember that the class each Transformer falls under comes with its own range of exclusive skills and abilities. Your favorite Transformer from childhood may turn out to be your least favorite class to play as -- the horror!
Description: Jetfire is dedicated to the pursuit of science and believes technology will ultimately give the Autobots victory over the Decepticons. Jetfire keeps himself completely cutting edge and up to date, making him the fastest Autobot ever created. Jetfire became an Autobot after disagreeing with the methods used by the Decepticons and Starscream in particular.
