The Big N's been in an aggressive mood lately. Not content with the latest report of a profit dip in six years, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata had some choice words to say to company rivals.
How far has Mr. Iwata gone? Not only does he claim dominance over Sony, he's put them aside and replaced them with Apple as the "enemy of the future". Serious business! This stemming from the fact that Nintendo's intended demographic (such as older males and high school girls) expressed their interest in an iPhone over a DS. Sony and Microsoft are also trying to get in on the family-friendly pie while Nintendo tries to deal with the App Store's quantity-over-quality selection.
Even though Nintendo's consoles are dedicated gaming machines, they've been light on features compared to what PSP, PS3, 360, Zune, and iDevices offer. It's quite possible that Iwata is very serious as he has stated interest into a free mobile network similar to that of Amazon's Kindle with 3G. It'll bump up the cost of hardware but can you complain about free online gaming wherever you go?
