Final Fantasy IX coming soon to PSN
Experience the last PSX Final Fantasy
Everyone's had their shot with the two popular Final Fantasy entries from the original PlayStation and now it's time for the underdog to come in: PS3 and PSP owners will soon be able to purchase Final Fantasy IX from the PlayStation Store.
Final Fantasy IX is the last of the PlayStation Final Fantasy titles with the series going back to its medieval fantasy roots. The story follows a young skilled thief by the name of Zidane as he and Princess Garnet (forcefully asking to be kidnapped by him) figure out the truth behind the once-peaceful Queen Brahne suddenly going hostile and declaring war on the country of Burmecia.
FFIX's unique ability system comes in the form of skills learned from equipment and activated by the use of crystals; as the characters level up, more skills can be enabled at once. While FFVII and FFVIII allowed each party member to be customized to the player's whim, FFIX's cast have set roles but at least four party members can participate in battles. Work on the PSN version had some amazing turnaround on its development so everyone should expect the game to hit pretty soon.

Thankfully I upgraded my PS3 hard drive a while ago so the memory whoring won't be an issue.
