Ubisoft has confirmed the next iteration of the Assassin's Creed series, and no, it isn't being called Assassin's Creed III. While it might not be what fans were hoping for, the game is sounding like it'll live up to its predecessors.
According to Ubisoft, the latest installment will continue to tell the story of Ezio, who we hear has joined the ranks of the legendary master assassins as he wages war against the Templar order. This all came as news after a piece of placeholder art for the game (below) was leaked, causing quite a bit of commotion. The company reacted quickly to the rumors, confirming the validity of the image and pushing the naysayers aside.
The image also indicates there will be an exclusive multiplayer character for anyone who pre-orders the game at GameStop. Altair, anyone?
That's all we know for now, unfortunately. A representative from the company did mention we'll hear more next week.
