Dragon Age "Darkspawn Chronicles" DLC lets you play as the enemy
Burn, Denerim, burn!
Now this is a bit unexpected. When we first heard about the upcoming Dragon Age DLC "Darkspawn Chronicles", we'd figured we'd be going back to a previous period in time and killing off some more baddies. BioWare has gone with a twist, however, and in this installment, you'll be playing as the Darkspawn themselves. So finally, you can make that punk Alistair squirm, and pulverize him with your mighty grasp! Er, got a little carried away there.
But yes, the story will center around you as a hurlock vanguard, but you'll be commanding genlocks, hurlocks, shrieks and ogres. Further on that, alternate history is the premise here (spoiler alert): what if you'd died in The Joining, and Alistair was King from the beginning? That's the premise here, and it's a decent one at that.
Finally, completing "Chronicles" will unlock an "epic Darkspawn item" for use in Origins and Awakening.
The new DLC is expected to launch May 18 for 400 Microsoft / BioWare points, or five dollars.

I love DAO, but I really can't afford some barely replayable DLC. It's just not worth it...
