The latest issue of Nintendo Power confirms a sequel to the Wii FPS The Conduit. That one sold okay, but judging from interviews with various Sega staff, it sounded like a successor would never see the light of day. Not only is it happening, but Sega is publishing again, and of course, High Voltage is developing. For those that enjoyed the first game, this should all serve as good news -- even moreso given what's to come.
Conduit 2 will be set primarily in Atlantis, but will also see you travelling to other locations like Siberia and Washington DC. The focus will be on the art and story, however gameplay will be significantly beefed up thanks to new multiplayer modes, a 2-4 player splitscreen option, a co-op Invasion mode allowing up to four players and complete with challenges, new weapons, class-based gameplay with unique attributes and suit upgrades, and big boss battles, to name a few items. Fans should also be pleased to know Bounty Hunter mode will make a return.
In short, it sounds like they're overhauling everything, the final product of which could appease any naysayers of the first title. We look forward to checking out Conduit 2 when it releases this autumn.
