Stream your music collection over short distances
A company called Wearable Inc. has come up with a neat little gadget. Called the AirStash, its basically a wireless SD card reader. You just plug your SD memory card into it, and then the media can be copied or streamed to any device that was a WiFi connection and a web browser.
The AirStash has its own battery, and doesn't require tons of power to transmit, so reportedly it lasts up to 5 hours on a charge. You can then re-charge it plugging into a USB slot.
The range that the device transmits was not given by the company, but we are guessing it is fairly limited -- this is probably more intended to easily share streamed music with your buddies in the same room then it is transferring a bunch of files.
We are still trying to figure out whether or not this AirStash device would actually proof useful at times. But whether or not it does, it still does seem like a nifty little device.
The AirStash will be selling for $100 USD. Which seems a bit much -- but the device is fairly unique.
