In a bit of a new direction for Sapphire, the company showed an upcoming mini-projector product at CeBIT this week. Called the Mini Projector 101, it is able to throw 640x480 resolution images up to 65 inches. The battery offers 140 minutes of projection time -- which is just enough to watch most movies.
The device is quite small -- as you can see in this only photo of the device, taken by the website Fudzilla, the Mini Project 101 is about the size of a cellphone battery charger. Small enough that you could carry it around in your pocket, or purse.
We aren't sure of the actual output connectors used, but it has been designed to work with any sort of PC (netbook, mainframe, whatever), digital cameras, iPods and other assorted media devices such as that.
The price tag seems to be about $500 USD, which seems pretty steep -- but you pay for the portability, we suppose. No word on when the device many arrive in stores.
Full-size and smaller projectors continue to fall in price fairly steadily; you can expect they will become increasingly popular over the next decade.
