Dark Void hit retailers shortly before industry giant Mass Effect 2, which may have contributed to the lack of fanfare (aside from lukewarm to poor reviews). I mean, it's a Capcom game!
Doesn't mean the game is just disappearing into anonymity. Cue post-launch DLC! Next week, on February 10 for Xbox 360 and February 11 for PS3, Dark Void will be getting add-on content -- for a decent price of $4.99 or 400 MS Points. The DLC will add an "arcade-esque experience," allowing players to tear through countless enemies while collecting points and upgrades. What's the incentive? Surviving 10 full rounds and beating your previous record.
If you're into challenge modes, there will be a soundtrack released digitally and on disc prior to the DLC, on February 9. In addition to all the Bear McCreary goodness, an 8-bit remake of the main theme, "Theme from Dark Void (Mega Version)," will be included as a bonus track.
