Pentium chips of recent years have generally all made excellent overclockers. The latest 32nm Clarkdale Pentium G6950 is no exception to this. With this in mind, ASRock has released a BIOS update that incorporates a new overclocking mode specifically tailored for the G6950.
The H55MPro motherboard, with the BIOS update, now has a "Turbo 100" overclocking mode. By default, the G6950 runs at 2.8GHz. Hit this button, and presto, you'll be running your Pentium G6950 at 4.0 GHz. Not too shabby.
This overclock mode will also boost on the on-chip integrated graphics clock to 767MHz, and the memory to a solid 1600 MHz.
One big important thing though: as with normal overclocks, if you are going to be running that kind of speed boost, you'll need proper cooling. You do not want to run a Pentium G6950 at 4GHz with stock cooling. That's just not wise.
