Strap it on your chest to feel explosions & action, apparently
A new gimmicky product has arrived on the market now, aimed at gamers. Just in time for C.E.S. Hurray!
The product is called the Immerz KOR-fx (which, if you were less cool, you would spell probably spell as 'Immerse Core-Effects'). Made by Immerz Inc., this newfangled device uses sound waves aimed at your chest, from a strap-on pair of headphone-like things, in order to get you to feel explosions, and other happenings in games and movies. The KOR-fx uses sound to "activate neural pathways that subconsciously monitor the vibrations of the chest cavity that naturally occur when speaking, laughing or crying."
This funky new "acoustic-haptic technology" will be showing this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The product is going to be sold for $189.99 (which seems a touch too expensive) and will be available for grabs in May of this year.
This video above shows this fine new product in all of its glory. The gamers involved seem to really think the KOR-fx is the bee's knees. Funny stuff!
