No stopping Activision's juggernaut sets new record in UK as it tops software charts for eight weeks straight
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been topping the software charts ever since it launched, wherever it launched. This has been no different in the United Kingdom, where Chart-Track confirms the game has continued to hold pole position even eight weeks after first hitting the PAL market.
It's no secret that Activision has been banking big on MW2, and at this point it's clear the publisher's dreams of releasing the biggest thing yet for digital entertainment are well realized.
According to Chart-Track, MW2's latest milestone is particularly noteworthy as it now represents the longest time any one title has remained uncontested as the best-seller on its UK charts since Need for Speed: Underground 2's run five years ago.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games from Sega is a notable exception, beating all the first party offerings to become the third best-selling console title for the week ending January 2nd. Ubisoft's Just Dance also makes a surprise showing.
