Sony promotes PSPgo in EU with free games
Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, Gran Turismo or Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines free to EU owners
For those residing in Europe and have yet to purchase a PSPgo, Sony is launching a new promotion in which those who buy or already own a mini-PSP handheld will be rewarded with one of three free titles. Unlike the previous PSP models, the "go" is a digital platform, meaning that it won't take UMDs -- games will only be available via the PlayStation Store (accessible through both PSP and PS3).
PSPgo owners or future buyers can simply download the promotional theme from the store and be rewarded with a free game code. For those wondering: yes, if you grabbed yourself one of the consoles on release date, then the offer is also available to you. Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, Gran Turismo or Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines will be available across the EU region, apart from Germany where Assassin's Creed is replaced by LittleBigPlanet PSP (our review).
If you are in need of a little more details on the games being offered, Gran Turismo is the first portable adaptation of the ultra driving sim series that has always been a favourite, offering hundreds of cars, and sporting some of the best visuals ever seen on the PSP; Motorstorm: Arctic Edge is also a portable debut for another driving series, though Edge is focused entirely on off-road madness expanding over the frozen wastes of Alaska. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines continues the tale of the original game, following Altair as he pursues the Templar army back to Cyprus. It is also worth taking note owning a copy of Bloodlines will also unlock six exclusive weapons for the PlayStation 3 version of Assassin's Creed II (our review). Finally, Sackboy has shrunk in size and is ready for duty in Sony Cambridge's portable version of the multi award-winning LittleBigPlanet.
All of the above are major titles, not shovelware, but be warned, the promotion won't be around forever: it starts today, December 1st, and goes until January 10, 2010.
