People like blowing each other to smithereens
How do you measure the success of a game? By how many grenades its players have chucked at each other.
Well, it does say something, and Nexon is looking at this positively as a sign of Combat Arms' popularity with gamers. Hey, who can resist a free FPS as vast as Combat Arms? So according to Nexon, 1.5 billion hand grenades have been tossed since the game launched in 2008. Of that number, 240 million actually done some damage, enough to take over four billion players total.
“Our players seem to be taking to heart that ‘close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades’ with the amount of bombs thrown,” comments producer Graham Kays.
“Sometimes, it’s the perfect throw, other times it is magnificent timing and for some of us, it’s just dumb luck. Regardless, fragging with grenades is always a good time.”
You know, this sounds pretty awful taken out of context, being proud of wracking up 1.5 billion grenade-deaths. Ah well, not much worse than chainsawing Locusts.
