Members get free, instant-streaming Blu-ray disc

Rejoice, PlayStation 3 owners and HD movie fanatics, for Sony and Netflix have decided to hold hands and be good friends. Sony announced this weekend that next month, the major movie rental service will be hitting their very own PlayStation Network.
Some time in November, PS3 owners will be able to stream TV shows and movies instantly through Netflix or download off PSN. You'll need to sign up for the subscription service first, of course; just make sure you've got $8.99 to spare each month.
Jack Tretton, president and CEO of SCEA -- the guy who speaks first at their E3 press conference -- made the usual "we're so pleased" statement over this union of entertainment giants:
"The PlayStation 3 system has always been about more than just gaming, and it will soon be the only platform in the industry to offer consumers such a variety of convenient options for enjoying movies and TV shows. Whether you want to watch content on Blu-ray disc and DVD, download it from the PlayStation Network’s video delivery service, or stream videos instantly from Netflix, the PS3 system is the only solution that offers it all.”
Details suggest that the new Netflix function on PS3 will be activated with a free Blu-ray disc, which activates the Netflix user interface. You'll still need an Internet connection, but once it's all done, you'll be in movie-goer heaven. Netflix CEO and co-founder Reed Hastings commented:
“As instantly watching movies and TV episodes streamed from Netflix becomes an increasingly popular way to enjoy the Netflix service, our goal is to rapidly expand the devices that stream to our members. As a leading game console and Blu-ray disc player, bringing Netflix to the PS3 system is a real win for both Netflix members and PS3 system owners.
But how will they be able to stream 1080p? haha bandwidth ???
