Wii Balance Board catches nervous body movement

The "War on Terror" has been a source of much controversary and facepalm-worthy news.  But wait, there's a potentially amusing development in the ongoing war.  Researchers looking into new ways of catching terrorists have tried numerous innovative tactics, mostly related to measuring body stats like heart rate, breathing, eye movement, body temp, and fidgeting.  Looks like a solution has been under our noses this whole time.

Oh yes, we are talking about the Wii Fit Balance Board.  Sure there are those who think it's totally bunk, but researchers think this is the right direction.  Devices are used to track various vitals -- thermal device for face temperature, eye track to follow subject's gaze, two more for heart and respiratory rates -- while a Wii Balance Board is used to monitor fidgeting.

In the study, actors were hooked up to the monitoring devices and asked to stand on a Balance Board as they were asked random questions.  The Board effectively measures how someone is shifting their weight, though scientists aren't sure if fidgeting alone warrants suspicion.

Someone should introduce these guys to the Wii Vitality Sensor.  Might help catch more terrorists.
