Epic Mickey officially announced

With very little to go on, Disney's newest Mickey Mouse title named Epic Mickey is a hot topic in the media at the moment. To begin with, Epic Mickey was simply a myth conjured via rumours and the occasional piece of concept art dug up by sources, but now it's official.

The game features Mickey Mouse as lead role, obviously, is Wii-exclusive, and looks to be a platformer set in a disturbing, brilliantly designed world conjured up by famed designer Warren Spector (known best for Deus Ex). Of course, representing the world's most recognisable cartoon protagonist in modern gaming is a lot of pressure, but if the designers are as talented as the artists, it could take the Wii by storm.

The plot behind the game is still under wraps, but speculations suggest Mickey will be venturing around the world, restoring grim and gloomy vistas to their once vibrant selves. There is no indication as to who will be joining Mickey on his epic quest, or who will be trying to hinder him, but it's expected we will be seeing some Disney favourites stepping into the fray.
