Publishers have developed this habit of releasing demos to people who pre-order the game first. Brütal Legend is now one such game.
EA and Double Fine have announced an early access demo, available to those who pre-order the game through GameStop for a few weeks. After the exclusivity period ends, the demo will be released to the public on Xbox LIVE and PlayStation Network. Until then, however, you can put down $5.00 in advance for an early preview.
The Brütal Legend demo covers the game's opening chapter, where Eddie Riggs begins his journey into the Heavy Metal universe, which he must then save. It's rather like Wizard of Oz, in that the hero gets knocked out and transported to another world. No idea if it's all just a dream though. Eddie will make use of deadly larger-than-life weapons like "The Separator" axe and "Clementine" electro shock guitar.
"I wish people could play the whole game right now," said Tim Schafer, President of Double Fine Productions. "But while we’re waiting for Rocktober 13th, a taste of Metal is better than none at all."
