Microsoft avoids definite answers, leaving possibilities open
The new Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Xbox 360 console comes with a 250GB HD, and I know what some of you are thinking: "Will the HD be released separately?"
This juicy bundle was unveiled yesterday and will go for around $399.99 USD; shortly after, Albert Pinello spoke to journalists about the possibility of seeing the 250GB hard drive being sold as a separate item for anyone who didn't want a new 360 unit (or one tagged with Modern Warfare 2). As expected, there was neither a "no" nor "yes" answer, but a very very subtle "maybe."
When asked whether Microsoft had plans to sell the 260GB HD, Pinello replied, "I wouldn't say plans. Maybe. I hear this story every two years. It was the 20s, and then the 60s, and then the 120s."
So basically he stated the latest hard drive would not be released apart from the bundle, yet he's suggesting this might change by citing previous distribution patterns. Oh those big companies love being coy.
