Orson Scott Card of Ender's Game fame introduced the original Empire novel in 2006. Three years later, we have Shadow Complex, a platformer heavily inspired by the book and its universe.
Card makes an appearance in the latest Shadow Complex trailer, dubbed "Making-Of." In it, he talks about his experience with Epic and Chair in making the game, joking (maybe) that it's a lot more work than writing a book.
The video also gives sci-fi fans an insight into the game's relationship with the Empire novels. You really don't need to have read the book to understand the game, as Shadow Complex takes place outside the main storyline. The events occur in the same universe, but that's all -- characters and story are original. Card also mentions that while the game has a lot of new things readers didn't see in Empire, the upcoming novels will tie into the game a little more.
Shadow Complex arrives on Xbox LIVE next Wednesday, August 19. We hope you look forward to our review on Monday!
