Developer denies copying Valve, Korean gamers not pleased
Most of Asia has yet to understand the concept of intellectual copyrights, and this goes beyond the video game business. But we're a gaming and hardware site, so we only address what is applicable.
The most recent offense that's got the gaming industry riled up is an upcoming Korean multiplayer shooter called H.A.V.E. Online. Everything the developers have revealed thus far bear a remarkable resemblance to Valve's popular online title Team Fortress 2. The similarities are so obvious, in fact, that South Korean gamers have been verbally attacking the developers, calling H.A.V.E. Online "an embarrassment" to the Korean gaming industry.
Yeah, you tell 'em!
The developer, SK iMedia, kept quiet at first, perhaps hoping the shitstorm would pass. They have finally responded to all this bad press with a vague statement.
"Debating [the game's originality] is like having blind men touching an elephant and describing what it looks like," stated SK iMedia. "We will reveal the gameplay soon. Other than that, we have no comment at this time."
This all started when the studio debuted a promotional trailer. A YouTube video was compiled comparing it to various Team Fortress 2 "Meet the Team" vids. One major difference is that all the guys have been replaced by cute anime girls and toys -- shocking. YouTube comments have claimed the gameplay resembles DICE's Battlefield Heroes more than Team Fortress 2.

Response "Oh my GAWD the is rpn of SOL CAL"
Seems lame, they could have done the game as is and probably done well in sales, but the method executed to promote it was so poor that it's now staining up the rep of the game. It's not that it's a shooter or class based FPS, it's that it decided to clone something successful hoping they would become successful, you could say they appropriated the scenes from TF2 but it wouldn't save it from being in poor taste by them.
I would more call it... Team Fortress 2 inspired. First person shooters tend to be inspired by each other more often than not. It'd be so easy to call this game a rip off of 10 other FPS, or Team Fortress 2 a rip off of 10 other shooters, and so on.

Then, watch the actual video remembering this and compile a thought other than "dude bro its like any fps and like bro dude yeah" :/ the point is they ripped the Meet the Class videos to promote their game, instead of showing actual gameplay of their own. I've never seen so many people miss the point before and stand firm about their decision after doing so. -_-
