Oct. 20th in North America, in Europe Oct. 23rd
While there were rumors yesterday about when Gearbox's PC / Xbox 360 / PS3 FPS ARPG MMO Borderlands would come out, it is now official: the game will be arriving in Europe on October 23rd, and North America October 20th.
This is great news to many fans looking forward to the game, as it was originally scheduled to come out by now when it was first announced.
If you haven't heard of the game, here is a brief synopsis: think of a FPS version of Diablo. You get to choose between 4 class archetypes, as you wander a post-nuclear war world than has been overrun by mutants and militant jerks. The game will feature randomization -- most notably in the creation of weapons. If you take into account of the possible different combinations of weapon components, you could say that there is over 500,000 different kinds of guns that could turn up in the game.
Initially, Borderlands had a gritty-realistic style going on. But the team at Gearbox -- perhaps seeing the good things that came out of Team Fortress 2 -- decided late in the project to switch over to a more cartoony-style, cell-shaded graphics look.
July 24th: A new trailer has come out for the game -- the first trailer to come out in a long time. Here it is, showing of the new look of the game:
Sections: Microsoft Consoles, Console Games, PC Games, Sony Consoles
| · | Asus Sabertooth X79 TUF (German) |
| · | Crucial Adrenaline |
| · | Roccat Isku |
| · | Lian Li PC-TU200 |
| · | Corsair Obsidian 550D (German) |
| · | SilenX Effizio EFZ-120HA5 |
-Still not cartoony though! More fantasy-like, which isn't exactly cartoony, in my opinion. Btw, do you have a link to a video of its earlier, more realistic style? I don't really have a comparison at the moment...
Pictures on the profile are too, though I'm going to get those deleted tomorrow.
