So much for 'not interfering'
Remember when we announced advertising was coming to the Xbox 360 dashboard? And Microsoft said, "One of our core principles is to enhance, not interfere with the gaming experience, and we work directly with our partners to only deliver experiences that are relevant to the LIVE community"? Let's just say moral of the story is not to trust advertisers, as one gamer shows us with this YouTube video:
That one's on us, Telus.
Many gamers, we realize, aren't going to see a problem with traditional ads on the dashboard, but ads with sound (which play automatically, even if you don't select them, no less) -- who doesn't hate that? If Microsoft pushes through with this plan, though, this will be yet another avenue for advertising we'll all just "get used to." LIVE's Major Nelson says they don't want to look like Shibuya Crossing, but they're certainly helping to pave the way -- and at least that district doesn't have sound ads.

Gotta love when people don't actually watch the video / rtfa, had the one above me done so they would have noticed it's a panel on the dashboard, it doesn't shove in mid-game and go "hey look at me"
