Twittery MMORPG
Four programmers from the Horde have made a new program that allows you to tweet in World of Warcraft. It is suitably called "TweetCraft."
Have a big epic dungeon to clear out? Send out the word via TweetCraft to wrangle up all your favorite WoW-lovin' Tweeters. 140 characters should be enough to let everyone know what piece of new loot you just picked up. Yes, you can now show your friends and guild just how 1337 you are.
Not too mind-boggling this came about, given WoW's reputation for being so add-on friendly. Combining one of the world's most popular MMOs with a social networking phenomenon sounds like a no-brainer.
Just keep in mind that TweetCraft is not an official app, neither from Twitter nor Blizzard. So download at your own discretion. The homepage also includes FAQs, known issues, and other information worth checking out.
TweetCraft can:
• Send/receive Tweets in-game (Immediate sending reloads your UI)
• Queue Tweets to send when it's more convenient for you
• Upload in-game screenshots using TwitPic
• AutoTweet when you log in, enter an instance or get an achievement
• Extensible so that AddOn authors can register messages or events to AutoTweet
Here's an epic little preview video in case you're interested.
