Radeon HD 4650/4350 cards offer silent cooling

PowerColor expanded its AMD graphics card lineup today with the announcement of the Silent Cooling Solution cards, part of the Go! Green series. Consisting of the HD 4650 SCS3 and HD 4350SCS, the cards use up to 38 percent less power than its competition. As an added benefit the Silent Cooling Solution mean silent cooling making the card well suited for both home theater PCs and gaming rigs alike.

The Go! Green series cards are DirectX 10.1 compatible and support ATI Stream technology for accelerated processing of video transcoding tasks. The ability to reduce power consumption and and enjoy reduced noise levels sounds like a good idea. PowerColor didn't specify the details but it looks as if both units employ passive heatsinks which is the reason the cards are so quiet. With the lower power consumption it will be interesting to see how these units perform once they are released which PowerColor says should be sometime this July.
