Im a newbie when it comes to installing new "Drivers" to my Graphics card.
So do I:
-Uninstall my current Drivers and Catalyst Control Center
-Restart PC
-Install New Drivers(downloaded)
-Then restart again? Or what?
Google is no help...

Yep, that's it.
Do the uninstall in one step from Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs -- you'll find something called the ATI Catalyst Install Manager (or something similar).
As mentioned in the article, after uninstalling, it's recommended upon restart to use something like Driver Sweeper to clean out the old stuff before installing the new, as a precaution -- super easy to do, no worries.

I'm getting a blue screen of death when installing under Windows 7 64-bit. Card is 4670 and works fine, but when I try to install Catalyst 9.6 the system crashes.

I would just stick with whatever video card drivers work in Win7 until the official release in October.

You will not be gaining much frames going from 9.4 to 9.6 . Probably less then 1 frame on average. So just stick with whats stable for now, I'd say. (The one catch being unless you are playing Company of Heroes )

chautemoc: I didn't have any old drivers to uninstall as this was a new computer and video card on which I had just innstalled Windows 7 for the first time. So naturally I tried to install the current drivers.

kspiess: Are you saying if I just got the 9.4 drivers I would be able to avoid this? I have no problem with using an earlier version if it works.

He's saying the 9.4 drivers may be the best set for you -- so yeah, give those a shot.
Guru3D has old sets.

Well, I tried the 9.4 drivers and no luck. I get a blue screen at the same point while installing the Catalyst Control Center. It's a shame as I really like the features of the CCC and I really like Windows 7. I hope they fix this soon so I can use both.

That's too bad, man -- have you browsed the Catalyst forums?

Have you kept going back to older and older drivers? Really this doesn't make sense.

On a clean install of Win7, everyone should have a pretty similar experience, and nobody else is really having these problems...

I got the impression from what Sean Ridgley wrote that others might have had similar problems: "Also, for those that've been having blue screens of death under Windows 7 and the 9.5 set, let us know if this set fixes things (so far so good in our testing)."

I tried drivers back to 7.9 and still get the same problem.
