HI
These are great machines...
my only concern is no real long term testing on their reliability..
regardless especially with laptops i backup all my data to play it safe.... fyi www.onlinebackupvault.com is way to go!!

12.1 inches and an expresscard slot. This is not a netbook. it is a small laptop. While I am intrigued by a boost in graphics power in a netbook, the size, weight, and therefore portability are what makes a netbook a netbook. My Asus 901 is no bigger than a daytimer. My 1000H is getting into the size and weight that pushes the envelope to call it a netbook. A 12 inch display at 3 and a half pounds is a small laptop.

Press release calls it their "first 12-inch netbook". Semantics I guess.

And who will release the first 17-inch netbook?

Most of the current 10" netbooks have acres and acres of unused space around the screen, in fact most could fit an 11.5" screen if it was used more judiciously.

I'm with you on that one. I am eager to see the first 10-inch ION netbook without GMA950. I will probably buy one as soon as it comes out, like I did with my MSI Wind which is now more than one year old.

The fact that its that small, although not as small as a normal "netbook" coupled with the price of $449 is what classifies it as a netbook.
