Star Players confirmed for Blood Bowl

Characters larger than life come with the territory if we're talking about big league sports, especially if said sport is a gruesome, fantasy rendition of football!  The latest media update for Cyanide Studio's video game adaptation of Blood Bowl, the game of fantasy football set in the world of Games Workshop's Warhammer, highlight the appearance of Star Players.  As varied as the current teams themselves, these special characters can be hired by teams that can afford their astronomical fees (and if they're the same race). Just like in the original tabletop game, Star Players are expected to pack an extra special punch for players who know how to put them to good use.

You know it's Blood Bowl when you hire a minotaur decked out with railroad spikes for your defense.

The Blood Bowl video games are currently scheduled for release on the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation Portable and DS platforms sometime during the second quarter of 2009.
