New name, same familiar faces
EA Redwood Shores Studio has put out some great games over the years, including the underrated survival-horror title Dead Space. Looks like they've decided to ditch their name for something fresher, and as of today, EA Redwood will be known as Visceral Games.
The studio remains a part of EA despite the rebranding and are still located in Redwood Shores, California, alongside EA headquarters and The Sims Studio.
It certainly suits their recent lineup, with Dante's Inferno and Dead Space: Extraction on the way. Visceral is keeping a tight lid on two other unannounced titles, but we're pretty sure they've got nothing to do with rainbow slippers and candied apples.
“Action, intensity, excellence. It isn’t just in our DNA, it’s in our blood,” said Glen Schofield, VP and GM of Visceral Games. “For the past two years, we have adopted a new culture that prizes excellence above all else. Primal action is the beating heart of the studio and now our new name reflects that.”
Well, a rose by any other name...
