Hopping back to the American 70s and 80s
This coming Tuesday and Thursday, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Rock Band fans can expect a trip back to the 1970s and 80s era of American music history.
Styx and REO Speedwagon were two of the biggest names then, and with the next Xbox LIVE and PSN update, their work will be added to the Rock Band Music Store catalog. The "REO Speedwagon / Styx Tour '09 Pack" will include re-recordings of "Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)," "Renegade," and "Too Much Time on My Hands" by Styx, which span across two albums. REO Speedwagon will also have three songs in the pack, including "Ridin' the Storm Out," "Roll With the Changes," and "Take It on the Run."
Additionally, the pack will have a brand-new collaborative song between the two groups, called "Can't Stop Rockin'," which was recording in anticipation for radio and Rock Band DLC. This update's modern touch comes from progressive rockers Hautewerk, who will be making their Rock Band debut with three tracks from their 2006 album.
Xbox 360 owners can find this DLC on Xbox LIVE this coming Tuesday, April 21. PlayStation 3 owners will be getting the update on the following Thursday, April 23. The individual tracks will be available for $1.99 or 160 Microsoft Points, while the "REO Speedwagon / Styx Tour '09 Pack" will go for $10.99 or 880 MS Points, and the "Hautewerk Pack 01" for $5.49 or 440 Points.
