Remember Wii MotionPlus? First announced last summer, this Wii accessory is nearing its North American launch date, June 8.
Wii MotionPlus is, essentially, an add-on for the Wii Remote, upgrading its motion capabilities. Several upcoming titles Wii titles to integrate Wii MotionPlus include Red Steel 2 and Wii Sports Resort, with The Conduit dropping its initial MotionPlus capabilities.
Wii Sports Resort is scheduled for release on July 26, will also make use of the MotionPlus enhancements. This glorified version of Wii Sports is to be offered with the Wii MotionPlus accessory for $49.99; on its own, the accessory will go for around $19.99.
"Wii MotionPlus represents a new evolution in video game control. The variety of fun games in Wii Sports Resort show off its incredible precision," said Cammie Dunaway, executive VP of Sales & Marketing for Nintendo of America. "Developers around the world are busy working on new ways to incorporate Wii MotionPlus controls into inventive experiences for consumers."
