Many will agree The Beatles are timeless (or overrated), and Harmonix is doing their part for the music world by working with remaining Beatles members on creating The Beatles: Rock Band. Fans have probably been looking forward to this game since MTV's announcement last November.
Now The Beatles: Rock Band is in sight, due for worldwide release on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. The game alone simply isn't enough, however, so music lovers can also expect some more promotional releases to hit shelves on 9/9/09, including the entire original Beatles catalog, digitally re-mastered for the first time.
Each CD in this collection comes packaged with replicated original UK album art, expanded booklets with the original and newly written liner notes, rare photos, and for a limited time, a brief documentary film embedded on each CD. Music content-wise, the bundle comes with all 12 Beatles albums in stereo, "The Magical Mystery Tour," and "Past Masters Vol. I & II," for a total of 16 discs. Every packaging booklet also includes detailed historical and recording notes.
In addition to the full catalog, two new Beatles boxed CD collections will also be out at that time.
The possibility of digital distribution is still being discussed.
