New Super Mario Bros. Wii User Reviews
-Cooperative/Competitive gameplay option heats up the living room!
-Nice new stages, bosses, and abilities.
-Yoshi. Is. Back.
-The controls can sometimes be difficult to get used to
-Penguin Suit may turn against you (which is a fault for a game like this)
-Disappearance of Mega Shroom.
New Super Mario Bros. brought the Overalls-Mustache fun to the new DS console.
Now, then, what is the job of this game? Of course, it's to bring the Overalls-Mustache fun to the Wii.
With a variety of new abilities such as Ice-Flowers, Propeller Shroom, and Penguin Suit, Nintendo effectively maneuvers the player to the realm of curiosity and entertainment. With the vivid and colorful design of those new items and costumes, it's sure to instantly hook players all around.
Another new ability introduced is the air-spin, which gives Mario more airborne time and distance in jumps. For experts, th...
Classic video game fun that you won't find anywhere else. It's back to the basic roots of the video game industry: video games being fun.
Something that many have been waiting for for several years: Simultaneous multiplayer in a Super Mario Bros game adds major replay value.
Excellent music, graphics, sound, gameplay.
Not enough usage of Yoshi.
No compatability with other game peripherals (classic controller, Game Cube Controller). Only the WiiMote and WiiMote/Nunchuck setups are compatible with this game.
To think that the last time a Super Mario Bros game was released for a home console was back in 1991. That's a very long time, and a lot has changed in those 18 years.
Gas prices have more than doubled since 1991, the Curse of the Bambino is no more, and they built a new Yankee Stadium.
The game consoles of 1991 used anywhere from 16 bit to 32 bit cartridges in 2 dimensions. Fast forward to 2009 and now a game can have gigabytes on a DVD in 3 dimensions.
I could go on all day about how much has changed in 18 years, but there's one thing that has stayed the same: The Mario Bros are a part of so...
Everything about this game I enjoy a fairly large amount. I spend at least an hour each day on this game, with or without friends. The thing that sticks out about this game to me and maybe others, is the difficulty level between the DS version, and the Wii version. You don't have to worry about you beating the game in 3 hours because of levels being too easy, because actually, they are much harder as you progress from each individual level and world to the next.
I would recommend this game to Mario fanatics, simply because it is a classic. What I mean by classic, is it has the same good old sense of humor that the old Mario games do. An example of that sense of humor, is seeing something funny at the end of the whole game. That thing I am not going to tell, because I don't want to spoil it!
But overall, this is a PERFECT game. I don't think that anything could have been improved, it is already the best Mario game that I have played since Super Mario Bros.3! A wonderful choice for a present, or a pastime, and even for a big party! There are so many good things I can tell you about this game, that it would take me the rest of my life to explain! I think you should buy the game, to experience the same thing I have!
With more characters, such as yellow and blue toad, along with Luigi, makes the game have more variety than the DS version. You have more control over each movement you do, because with the Wii remote, it senses every move you make, which also makes the game seem more realistic.
With the addition of new enemies, too, also gives more variety. In order for you to get the most enjoyment out of the game, I would recommend purchasing the Prima Official Guide for the game, which includes locations of each star coin, strategies to get the star coins, and much more which could help you along the jou...
