NBA Live 2001 review
NBA Live 2001

Summary:

The latest edition of the popular NBA Live series has struck again, this time on the Playstation 2 and with on new improvements. You can choose from an array of teams, and even his Airness, Michael Jordan. Yet even with all of these improvements, the same problem continues to bug this game.

The graphics have been the most updated factor of the game. Visually, this is a very well made game. The court is very sharp, you can actually see reflections of other players and fans in it. The players still seem to have the same old disappearing elbow and other bugs like that. Still, it is visually breathtaking.

As in many of the basketball games, there are play-by-play announcers, but unlike their real life counterparts, they will not bite the backs of a lady of the night. There announcing is very well done, and clear. They don’t get annoying quickly, which is the case in many basketball games. The soundtrack is not very well done, and it brings down this game.

If you have played one of the previous versions of the game, then you should have no problem adapting to this game. Personally, I think that it is too easy to block some shots, and once you find a players hot spot, then you will be able to make virtually everything. Basically, what I am saying is it can be a little bit too easy at times.

If you were to watch an NBA game and then play NBA Live 2001, you should notice a couple of differences in the ways that the players move. For one, your players will be able to move around much easier than normal. The other one is, the players are able to run much faster than normal. Other than those two things, the game is quite easy to play and enjoy.

With the absence of any good basketball games out before NBA Live 2001, this is defiantly the best basketball game for Playstation 2. Along with being the best, it is the most fun to play. For a fan of basketball game, NBA Live 2001 should quickly become a must have. For those who are not, NBA Live 2001 could bring some enjoyment, but I would recommend you stay away.

The never ending debate between purchasing a game or just leaving it on the shelves has plagued scholars for ages. There is one simple, yet complex answer: If you want to buy it, buy it. If you don't, then don't.
