NBA 2K2 User Reviews
-Graphics and framerate are smooth
-Controls are superb
-NBA authenticity (uniforms, arenas)
-Challenging AI (though sometimes too challenging...see below)
-The AI often shoots a very unrealistic 70-80% FGPercentage, even if you play tenacious defense
-Limited number of moves and crossovers etc.
-The crowd is often very quiet and inanimate (if not unrealistic in appearance)
-Commentary gets repetitive
Lightyears away from NBA Live 2002 in terms of realism. The commentary is also very good, but after a few games, it can get repetitive, and you can often predict what they are going to say before the first word even leaves their mouth. The street mode is also a fun way to escape the confines of a NBA arena, but not exactly NBA Street. If you want a crazy, dunkfest game, this is certainly not your game; you'd be better off with NBA Street or NBA Live 2002. However, if you're a true basketball simulation fan, this game is worth picking up. 4.3/5
This game is simply "The Greatest Of ALl Time" if you have read my previous reviews of NBA 2K games, you know i love them. I have basically have run out of things to say. . . so i guess you all know by now that this game is the GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!. . . oh wait i said that allready. . . oh well. well the player look goo, the courts look good , the game looks good, cookies look good, i look good, THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!
When I told my buddies at school that I was going to buy NBA2K2 that night, they called me a stupid moron. They ALL told me that NBA Live 2002 was the best current basketball game. Boy did I prove them wrong. Now, I personally cannot say that NBA 2K2 is better than Live 2002 because I've never played Live, but by the reactions of my friends when they saw NBA 2K2, I'm guessing that NBA 2K2 is the better product.
Wow. This game is loaded. There are many features: Create-A-Player, Create-A-Team, Fantasy Draft, and Customize Rosters plus many more. There's streetball featuring so...
gameplay, animation, and franchise are killers to the NBA Live seriesThe bad:
shallow create a player option, graphics are cartoony, glitches when shoting free throwsSummary:
This game is so amazing that I literally pissed in my pants the first time I played it. I was so suprised that it wasn't anything like the Live series. Past games like NBA Shootout and Inside drive, and In the Zone, copied Live so closely that it felt like the same game by different developers, but then NBA 2K2 comes out and I decide to play it first and what do you know, the game is 10x different than Live, 100x better than Live and the graphics aren't as good though. The game has a good create a player option, but it's no where near the depth of NBA Live 2002's create a player option. Ove...
The graphics on this game are excellent. This game has every NBA team with every player. That is awsome b/c you can make your own teams by drafting players from other teams. This game is Great. I can't wait until the internet addapter comes out for the GCN so i can play online with other people
great game play; franchise mode; 2 on 2; custom teams; CPU initiated trades; FUN!!!!The bad:
repetitive commentary; can't use custom teams in franchise mode (only season); can't see custom logos until team is madeSummary:
Fun, addictive, fast paced with plenty of modes of play. From 2 on 2 street ball to tournament modes with 4,8, or 16 teams. From Franchise to season modes with eith standard or fantasy draft options. With CPU initiated trades even between themselves their is plenty of depth to this game. In franchise mode you have all league office options such as scouting pleyers, watching salary cap when signing players, even has a preseason to get used to new players and an offensive and defensive playbook for plays to be called on the fly.
The Bad :-(
Can't use created teams or players in fra...
