NBA Live 2005 User Reviews
Heavily detailed editing section.
The excellent graphics of the ballers.
The licenses used well on : Gear/Kicks etc...
The effort put into the All-Star Weekend.
The amount of unlockables.
The choice of in-game music.
The relatively non-existant help in training modes.
The unrealistic gameplay.
Im in a mixed opinion over NBA Live 2005, after purchasing ESPN NBA 2K5 earlier in the year (of which I heavily enjoyed), this offering by EA Sports is disappointing and certainly does not match upto Sega's efforts of ESPN. The first thing you notice upon entering this game, is the amount of effort EA have put into making this game as 'flash' as possible - by that I mean the likes of 'Slam-Dunk School', 'Freestyle Mode' and '1 on 1' options.
Freestyle mode concentrates on a 1 on 1 offering, and the way to win is to dunk and get as many points as possible.
Slam-Dunk School is pretty self-expl...
Exceptional gameplay, and in depth Dynasty mode gives a real vision of the NBA. Graphics have definitely improved since 2004. NBA All Star Weekend is fun. I love facing my friends in the three point shootout. Sometimes it's even fun to play with Shaq in this mode. The bad:
NO CREATE A TEAM!! Just because of this, it is a 3. This is the only majorly important thing it needs. EA can keep improving the graphics, adding better lighting, or whatever, but it defintely needs this mode. The create a baller mode is so cool, and if they added this, it would be fun to create several players. Another thing it needs is better play with the big man. I love to get it in to my center, like Shaq for instance. When you watch Shaq on TV, he is going to dunk 9 times out of 10, when he gets deep in the paint. In the game, you can't dominate like the big guys actually do.Summary:
I like this game. Dynasty Mode kicks ass. I play this game a lot. If in 2006 they add a Create a Team mode, it could go up to a 4 or even 5 in my book.
- Smooth gameplay
- Decent graphics
- New dunk contest where you can show off your crazy dunks
- Good 3 point shooters can score all the time( a bit unrealistic)
- Can be quite easy
Quite a good game with smooth gameplay but apart from the new dunk contest theres not that much different from NBA live 2004. Costs double what the ESPN titles cost. There is now new jams, user controlled tip-ins and putbacks aswell as adjustable mid-air lay-ups and dunks. In dynasty mode you can lead a franchise for multiple seasons with new logistics, interactive rookie scouting and a PDA that updates you about everything from weekly power ratings to players you want to sign. The 10 man motion capture technology gives authentic animations, back door cut scenes and new in-air collisions.
ESPN doesn't have a dunk contest and Live does... But I still think ESPN is the better game. call me the ESPN lover if you wanna talk about me because of my love of ESPN.The bad:
I did madden know its time for NBA live. ahaha
ok this is not a very good game att all because the graphics aren't as good as ESPN's even on XBOX! The hole game suck's besides the dunk contest.
ok here goes my speech about ESPN vs. EA. like I said in madden they dropped the price down to compete with ESPN's $20 prices, they even had a specail thing that if you buy 2 EA games, you get 1 free. What is this? If you buy ESPN NBA & NFL, that $40! buy 2 EA games, $80 -_- . you could buy all 4 ESPN games and = to $80...well $79.96. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!
