What deception?

Summary:

I never bought the game as I can't find a copy, but renting will have to do mainly because Konquest (the game's adventure mode) is quite short. You'll find that 1 or 2 of the hundreds of fights are going to be very hard as you'll also be the character you always use. However, the length isn't what I imagine. I imagined a long length of about 20 hours but then got about 9 hours, making this a definate rent-only game unless you want to finish it 100%, in which case, rent it again or buy it if you like short games. More on this later.

Anyway, the game's intro scene will be, yes, after the event...

Combo Mambo

The good:

  • Effective use of combos
  • Good amount of unlockables

    The bad:

  • Konquest mode doesn't feel right

    Summary:

Now normally at a start of one of my reviews on a game I write about the games history, just to let the user know a bit about the games background. Well this time I can not do that due to the fact this is the first Mortal Kombat game that I have played and I know nothing about the previous games in the Mortal Kombat series. Anyway, lets get started.

So what does a beat-em-up need to have to make the game a classic? Well a good choice of game modes and great fighting with great combos is what makes a good fighting game in my opinion, and Mortal Kombat: Deception has all the ingredients to be ...

    Almost Flawless Victory

    The good:

Over 700 unlockables, two exclusive characters, all new modes, fatalities, characters, stages, and more. The same MK goodness.

    The bad:

No online. Konquest is a bit stale. Every word begins with K.

    Summary:

The Deadly Alliance has fullfilled its destiny. Even the Earthrealm Champions could not stop this force from taking over the Outworld. The Thunder God, Raiden, stood before the alliance, challenging them to Mortal Kombat. He fought well, but the strength of the two warriors was too much for Raiden to take. Falling before them, the Realms seemed to be under the control of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. However, greed filled them, and the Alliance fell into Deception. The two fight in Kombat, and Quan Chi becomes victorious. However, the ancient phropehsy is forfilled, and the cursed Dargon King h...

The best Mortal Kombat yet has gotten even better.

    The good:

Almost everything that was good in the Playstation 2 version.

Two GameCube exclusive characters who are Goro and Shao Kahn.

    The bad:

No Online play but this shouldn't a problem for those of you who don't have Broadband (like me) so you couldn't play online anyway.

    Summary:

    Difficulty: Easy

I just bought this game (I already had the Playstation 2 version) just to use Goro ands Shao Kahn. This is the best Mortal Kombat yet. And I know plenty of people who would agree with me on that. For those of you who never played this game you get 2 fighting styles for each chracter and 1 weapon and there's Konquest mode like in Deadly Alliance but the Konquest mode in this game is quite different from the last game.

This game is a must for fighting games fan especially if you are a fan of Mortal Kombat games. If you like Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance then I guarantee you wil...

    Gory Greatness

    The good:

This is an old classic, but it never get old. The fighting is awesome. Ok, here's the rundown on this.
    1.Good Graphics
    2.Awesome Fighting Elements
    3.Good Audio
    4.Gory if thats your thing.
    5.All new Konquest

    The bad:

There are a few downfalls with this game.
    1.Blood to the Max
2.Konquest Mode a little strange and straightforward.
    3.Fatalities are hard
    4.Death Traps are ridiculously bloody
    5.People actually get shredded
    6.Some strange extra "K"ontent

    Summary:

I reccomend this to anyone who can overlook the blood, which is hard, and is able to find a great fighting game. Ermac is a great character, and old favorites are back along with new. You should pick this up, but when it's cheaper. I don't think it's a 40$ game. Though the graphics are great, Gamecube doesn't have online, and 2 crappy extra characters don't make up for it. I'd pick this game up for a few days of fun.

like the best game this year

    The good:

they added extra modes like kombat mode, and puzzle mode, and konquest mode, and chess mode, and they added better fatalitys, and they added Hara-Kiri,and. they have better areanas

    The bad:

the comboes are slower than the other mortal kombat games and it cost 50 bucks.

    Summary:

it is hard and on konquest mode it is hard to go through it all have to have a lot of time and all that. there is alot of areas so if you are looking for a game that will take a long time than this is the game and besides better fatalitys they added Hara-Kiri it is where if the opponent does the fatality faster than the other person he kills himself like for example pull out his own heart.they have great areanas for example like they have had in all the other games a pit and i cant remeber the rest but it was the best mortal kombat game that i played on xbox and playstation 2 but i found ou...
