Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes User Reviews
So if you're into stealth games in the slightest then chances are you're already aware of Snake and his line of games. Metal Gear Solid helped define the genre and have pretty much settled at home on Sony's consoles. Occasionally though, Konami likes to throw Nintendo a bone and offer them an entry in their series. The Twin Snakes is an interesting offering, by letting Nintendo gamers see where the Solid arc started while updating the game to match more modern standards.
The first thing to note are the obviously improved graphics, making effective use of the Gamecube hardware to redo the vis...
The original Metal Gear Solid (MGS) is regarded as one of the greatest video games ever made. Solid Snakes adventure through the nuclear storage outpost located on Shadow Moses Island turned the former 8 bit star into a true video game icon. MGS became credited with the establishment of the modern stealth genre and synonymous with superior cinematic storytelling. To put it simply Snakes conflict with the renegade special force group FOXHOUND became the stuff of video game legend.
Sadly to paraphrase the titles protagonist, the game is no match for the legend. The 5th generation of consoles t...
- First Person Mode
- Better graphics
- The new cutscenes are amazing
- Great voice acting
- It's a remakeSummary:
I must say that I really enjoyed MGS:TTT. I reccomend this game to any person new to the MGS series. Some vets will complain about the same storyline, etc, etc. Although the story is the same it's still worth getting. This game also has great new cutscenes. Although a few are over the top, must of them are pretty cool looking. The Twin Snakes also has the First Person Mode from MGS2, which I loved. Now in days MGS's graphics look dated, the Gamecube's are way better than those. The one negative thing I must say is the game may seem to be to much alike MGS to warrant a purchase. Now y...
Voice acting is good, the graphics are fantastic,a couple of new things as well, such as extra cutscenes, the ability to throw magazine clips,a book with a girl from Eternal Darkness, yadayada. The bad:
They take away some of the accents, like Natasha Romanenko's and Mei-Ling's.The storyline is the same as the original,so its not that much worth buying if you've played the original.Summary:
Two years ago,i borrowed the original game for PS1 from a friend, because the one i had only had the first disk and locked up at the part where you meet Meryl in the bathroom.I also had a code disk that gave me some stuff.Even with the stuff,me and my other friend had a hard time beating the game.We had fun with the stealth suit and the guards.Anywhoo,it was a fun experience. We beat the game in about week.(everytime i went over to his house,i played it with him since he kept it)We stayed up all night to beat it when i spent the night.(I would like to point out that alaska is no where near li...
Incredible new cutscenes; Enhanced moves and graphics; Much improved AI increases challengeThe bad:
Rudimentary communication between characters; No lighting upgradesSummary:
Metal Gear Solid owned 1998. It didn't matter what console you preferred, Solid Snake was the man of the hour. Well, consoles did matter, since Konami dealt only with Sony at the time. Old-school Nintendo Metal Gear fans were left out in the cold. Perhaps Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is both a love letter to a gaming great and a belated apology to those who missed out the first time.

The Twin Snakes is a gaming rarity. While Hideo Kojima has been working hard on Snake Eater, the series' third chapter, he's also been overseeing Silicon Knights revamp his genre-defining classic. I...
-very good introduction for people who haven't played it on the PS/didn't quite get mgs2
-Cutscenes are amazing, graphics have a nice facelift
-game is engrossing; way better story than mgs2
-veterans/people who've played again might be a little bored(but will enjoy the new stuff)
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is an awesome remake (good job to those at Silicon Knights) of the game for the playstation 1 that was quite possibly the best game for the system, from it's rich storyline, awesome cutscenes, and fun gameplay. This action-packed adventure for the Nintendo Gamecube is sure to please. The graphics are superb and the cutscenes are better than some of those B-movies. The voices from the PS1 have been redone, and lines have been added/cut (Mei-Ling has an American accent! woop woop). The gameplay is fantastic- unlike Splinter Cell (which is a great game), you c...
