Metroid Prime: Hunters is a first-person shooting game spin-off featuring characters from Nintendo's Metroid sci-fi franchise, including heroine Samus Aran herself. Hunters was one of the first titles announced for the original Nintendo DS handheld, with a demo included as the pack-in bonus for the earliest DS bundles.
Hunters covers the events between Retro Studios' first two Metroid Prime 2 titles, and gameplay in singleplayer story mode is reminiscent of the Prime entries. In multiplayer mode, up to four players choose to play as one of seven different bounty hunters (including Samus) and engage in arena shooter matches. Each hunter has unique weapons and abilities. Hunters supports wireless local multiplayer, and was largely designed to showcase the original DS' capabilities in this regard.
