Hello, everyone-- I'm Turkey, and I'm a lunatic.
First and foremost, I'll answer the question that I get most often: Why Turkey? In fifth and sixth grade, 'turkey' became my answer for just about everything when I was not certain what to say. "How are you?....Turkey. What is the capital of Mongolia? ....Turkey?" Not surprisingly, it became an in-joke with my friends and a nickname. When I became active in neoseeker (and other online commmunities) in the years that followed, it was a natural username choice.
I initially came to neoseeker to look for information about the upcoming DW games, as they arrived(and there were a lot. Stupid Koei). I was never a terribly active poster, more of a reader, but I did contribute to some entertaining popcorn threads. I missed those when they stopped coming.When I stopped playing DW (the nth game was too much!), I stopped checking through here.
Cut to six years later. In a moment of nostalgia, my bf, brother, and I decided to pick up pokemon diamond and pearl for ourselves. We'd all been keeping up with the series to varying degrees over the year. I, myself, stopped after crystal and only got part way through ruby on a computer emulator, so I hadn't really gotten involved with any of the 'next gen' pokemon games. Consequently this nature, EV, and shiny nonsense is pretty new to me still---working on it though! Now, completing the pokedex has always been an important part of playing the games to me. I soon realized that with my own cartridge and global wifi, I still would be far from a pokedex complete. I did the best I could, but got stuck around the 350 pokemon mark. Thats when I returned to neoseeker-- I figured there must be an online trading community out there somewhere...and this seemed like a good place to start.
So, here I am. And I'm just about done with my dex now (Come to me, MAGMORTAR!!). I'd like to thank everyone who helped to get the job done. It really would have been impossible without all of your help! |
