Hi...I'm...Fusion10...what is...your...name? Err...nice...to...meet...you? o.O
Well a special friend of mine showed me this, and I'd like to share it with you:
I don't mean to revive this three-day-old thread, but I stumbled upon this thread while searching for a different one, and I have something that I would like to say.
Perhaps it would be better for all of those who aren't Christians to understand why all of those who are Christians try to tell them about God if they looked at Christians' perspective: We Christians found and learned about something that literally changed our entire lives for the better, and we simply want to share that miraculous feeling with others. That is why we try to tell you about the gift of eternal life. It is so important to us that you hear about the truth and experience the wonderful feeling you have when you accept God's gift, that we may have been/be persistent/forceful. But we mean well.
Now, I have tried to tell some of the people I've met about God, and I am ashamed to say that I did not do it in a gentle, loving, and compassionate way. I think that I not only was too forceful (in some cases), but I also just didn't explain stuff properly. I apologize, but I was doing the best I could to tell you guys about something that changed my life.
Since then, I have read books written by Christian authors and have read some Bible verses, and I now understand more about the matter. I think that the following is the easiest way to describe the message that we Christians want to spread across the entire world:
Because God is holy, one sin separates us from Him. That is why God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to earth to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross for us so that we may go to heaven, even if we have sinned. This is God's gift of eternal life. Jesus Christ was God (this is hard for us humans to understand because we are humans, and, as my cousin says, "We have a front of a head, and a back of a head," meaning that it is a lot for our human brains to handle), and He came back to life the third day after He died. The Bible says in John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." I also want you to know that God loves you! Now, it is up to you if want to accept God's gift of eternal life. But simply saying a few words will not make you a Christian--you have to truly believe in God, and believe that Jesus did come to earth, died, and rose again on the third day, therefore paying the penalty for our sins. You also have to believe that Jesus is God. If you do and want God's gift of eternal life in heaven, just pray a prayer to God like this:
Lord, I admit I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ came to earth and payed the penalty for my sins by dying on the cross. I believe that He rose again on the third day. I am sorry for all of the sins I have committed. Please forgive me and come into my life and guide me to please you. In Jesus' name. Amen.
That is all you have to do to become a Christian. And asking Jesus into your heart is the only way to get to heaven. Jesus says in the Bible (John 14:6): "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me."
I have told you the truth, now it is up to you if you are going to believe it and accept God's gift of eternal life.
And, I would like to correct those of you who have referred to Christianity as a "religion"--it is not religion, it is the truth.
If you would like to discuss this matter with me further, or have any questions, then please do not hesitate to NeoPM me.

...but do Christians really believe that God would forgive you for that?
That's just dodgy...

Yes, God will forgive anyone because He is loving and forgiving. Don't make the mistake of thinking that God could never forgive you--He does and He will, no matter how many sins you commit/committed, or how big or small they seem/seemed. The Bible says: "If we confess our sins, He [God] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
That is all I wanted to say (for now). I am sorry if I offended those of you who believe otherwise
