Welcome to Req's Neohome!

24.12.05

Yo ho ho! Req's appearence in Christmas pantomime wasn't the huge success he hoped for, despite his councellor's suggestion that it would 'integrate him into society more'. Perhaps pillaging and burning the sets and forcing Santa to walk to plank in front of 300 children had something to do with it. It was fortunate that someone had the foresight to bring tranquilizer darts.

Despite this setback, Req hopes to be involved in the stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang next, performing the role of the child catcher. It's not that Req doesn't like kids, but the White Witch of Narnia and King Herod are his idols.

Four portraits, four people, but who is the odd one out? Who has committed heinous crimes against humanity and common decency? Answers on the back of a postcard, kids.

A small update - 24 Hour Shift and Finding Home are now here to view.

19.06.05

And lo, after a year of scavaging and drawing on people, Req finally returned to Neoseeker - stronger, faster and more house-trained than before (probably). He brought with him several pieces of new artwork, which he linked to the right. Req also learned four philosophically important points from his Illustration course:

1. Who you know is more important than what you know
2. You don't need talent if you talk constantly
3. There is no hope in this world
4. You're all going to die

...Enjoy the rest of your day!

It's nice to be back home after university finished. It's put something of a nostalgic feeling within me, which can be dangerous - the last person in London to take a trip down memory lane managed to get mugged. But what can you expect from a city where the rain is reluctant to touch the ground? Still, the ethos is one of it's charms.

Linked Pathways Nowhere in the Recent Art section as well for your viewing pleasure... and I use that term loosely.

15.04.04

Art update at last, with the cover artwork for a personal project and a design for Neoseeker added. Not as happy with the latter as I am with the cover artwork, so I may go back and work on it some more soon.

Also, here's a homage to modern art:

"In Germany, Gunther Burpus remained wedged in his front-door cat flap for two days because passers-by thought he was a piece of installation art. Mr Burpus, 41, of Bremen, was using the flap because he had mislaid his keys. Unfortunately he was spotted by a group of student pranksters who removed his trousers and pants, painted his bottom bright blue, stuck a daffodil between his buttocks and erected a sign saying 'Germany Resurgent, an Essay in Street Art. Please give Generously'. Passers-by assumed Mr Burpus' screams were part of the act and it was only when an old woman complained to the police that he was finally freed. 'I kept calling for help,' he said, 'but people just said 'Very good! Very clever!' and threw coins at me.'" - The Big Issue

06.04.04

In the beginning there was nothing. Then God said 'Let there be Deus Ex!' And there was. And Deus Ex was good. After several years, forty days and forty nights of playing Deus Ex, things began to get a little boring, so God decreed that there should be Deus Ex 2: Invisible War. And there was. And there was much celebrating among the people. But God, with his profound sense of humour, decided that Req's computer should not be compatible with Deus Ex 2. And it wasn't. Shit.

Easter rolls around and with it comes the typically religious icons of chocolate and bunnies. Still, the holiday equals time away from university which is always nice; just a shame about all the work that needs to be completed over the next two weeks. Can't even scan it in to showcase either, since the scanner isn't large enough to accomodate A3 size :/ Will try to update soon though.

17.01.04

Have some time from university so I can update this a little. Two new artworks to show, Conamara and Spirit - the top two thumbnails respectively. The latter has some nudity in, so be warned. Comments and constructive criticism always welcome.

The Iona project has kinda grinded to a halt as well, so I'll start that up again soon. Never realised the practical problems of some of my concepts, even though they're not meant to be created in reality. Believeability among creation is key, though.
